When we confessed
our sins and believed that Jesus Christ died for us, we made him Lord of our lives and
received the gift of salvation. We then became more
than just a flesh and blood being, we become a spirit being, taking on the
attributes and characteristics of Jesus Christ, the most perfect being
to ever walk the face of this earth. With the gift of salvation comes the
Holy Spirit, and
it extends
everything we need to live abundantly.
There
are hundreds of belief systems regarding exactly when one receives the
Holy Spirit, and we
will not try to dissuade or persuade you to venture away from your belief structure,
but
we believe that the Word’s way is simplest as it is outlined in Acts 1:1-8(NLT):
1In my
former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to
teach 2until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving
instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many
convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period
of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4On one
occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do
not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you
have heard me speak about. 5For John baptized with[1]
water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
6So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at
this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" 7He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or
dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8But you will
receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth."
We couldn’t
possibly say enough about learning how to totally lean on the God given
ability of the Holy Spirit.
It is essential to living an extraordinary and Godly life. The degree to which we operate
it is completely left to us. We can either be walking dynamos full of power,
performing miracles, and operating the nine manifestations whenever needed, or we can
chose to be spiritual weaklings, failing to recognize the
enormity of the gift we've received.
There are
many situations in life in which some of us are not afforded the
opportunities that are so freely awarded to others.
The holy spirit is the
greatest equalizer. It will lead, guide, and direct us to opportunities only God knows
about. But what if you don’t know how to walk by the spirit? Could you miss an
opportunity? Absolutely! God will not rearrange His order to fit our circumstances. Of
course His mercy and grace are sufficient, but the end result of not adequately aligning
ourselves with God’s plan is a life beneath our privilege.
We have the distinct honor
and awesome responsibility to cultivate the power latent within us. A car, for instance,
has the capability to take you wherever you want to go, but nothing happens until you
press the gas. We must fuel the holy spirit with believing—trusting that if God
says it is available to live life with power, then it absolutely, unequivocally must be
available. As we stretch out on this, believing that God will grant to us the increase
according to His Word; WE WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Perhaps the greatness of holy spirit power is not taught
at your place of worship. Don’t worry, just pray. When you are ready to step out in
action, God will direct you to a place where you can be taught these wonderful truths, or
He will lead someone across your path who will help you to grow. We should always be
growing and abounding in spiritual matters. With growth comes the fortitude to witness

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT? The Holy Spirit is received after we've accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives.

Ephesians 1:3-13
3 Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ:
4 According as He hath chosen us in Him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself.
(*Through Christ we have received the rights and
inheritance of God’s sons and daughters.)
6 To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved:
(*God has fully
accepted us, we are His children.)
7 In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, 8 Wherein He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of His will.
(*This is why we don’t need to speculate about God’s will for our lives.
He’s makes it known through His Word.)
10 That in the dispensation
(*administration) of the fulness of times He might gather together
in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in
Him: (* Sisters, God’s plan and purpose
has everything to do with the body of Christ. We are to operate as a unit. This is why it is so important to develop
spiritual maturity to handle life effectively. So that we can all be of one mind, to the
end that we are witnessing boldly, winning souls, and giving our all to help others stand.
When we are crippled with problems, depression, and darkness, it is difficult for us to
seek the spiritual things of heaven. All we care about is getting out of our mess.
We trap ourselves in a vicious cycle of selfishness, refusing to reach out with love. This
is why we must deal with ourselves honestly, so that we have the veracity to sift through
our baggage and move on. It is we who must clothe ourselves with the righteousness of God.
He has made us accepted, He has made us righteous by blotting out our sin, now we must
claim it and own it. We must walk in it as He says, victoriously, free of
condemnation and strife. This is the glorious walk of a Christian.)
11 In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the
counsel of His own will. 12 That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. (* God glories in the fact that we made the decision to trust
in Christ without ever seeing him.)
13 In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that
holy Spirit of
promise.
Now after you receive
it, what do you do with it?
Ephesians 3:16-20

16I pray that
out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through
his Spirit in your inner being,
(* The holy
spirit makes our inner man strong so that we can stand against all attacks. The enemy
doesn't want us to know our purpose,
and he doesn't want us to fulfill God’s plan of building up the body of Christ. So the enemy uses
his bags of tricks to trap us through our weaknesses.)
17so
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that
you, being rooted and established in love,
(*
Sisters, how do you become rooted and grounded in
anything. We have to practice it with great diligence and perseverance. We need to
exercise the Love of God that is in our hearts by extending it to the household of
faith.)
18may
have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long
and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19and to know this love that
surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all
the fullness of God. (*filled with all the fulness of God! It’s
available, Sistas. It’s up to us!)
20Now to him who
is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us,
(* You see,
Sistas, we have his power
at work within through the Holy Spirit, but we have to put it in operation.)
21to him be glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE FULLY
WALK IN SPIRITUAL MATURITY
Ephesians 4:13
13 Till we all come in the unity
of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure
of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(*The word
"perfect" can be interpreted as the word "complete". God has given us
the Holy Spirit so that we can be completely, completely, complete, lacking nothing,
having everything we need to live victoriously. )
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR TREASURE
II Corinthians 4:7
7 But we have this treasure in
earthen vessel, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(*The " treasure" in our "earthen
vessel" is the Holy Spirit. It is power from on high. That’s why it’s so
magnificent. It doesn’t’ come from man. God is the giver.)

7 But the
manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the

knowledge of Him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of
His calling, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to
the working of His mighty power.
(*Wisdom is so extremely
important to the Christian walk. This should be our prayer always; that God would grant to
us wisdom regarding the situations we face, and that He will enlighten the eyes of our
understanding.)

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty.
A PRESENT HELP
Romans 8: 24-28

24For in this
hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who
hopes for what he already has? 25But if we hope for what
we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself
intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And
he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the
Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
