A Y E R
Most
Gracious and Heavenly Father,
I am so
thankful for the many blessings You have given me, and I am grateful for
the opportunity to come into Your presence at this very moment. I come
with a troubled heart in need of the comfort that only You can give.
The
storm is raging in my life right now, and the person I knew myself to be
seems like a distant memory. I feel lost in a vast ocean of
unfamiliarity and doubt, and the confidence I once had is sinking
further into the abyss. In the grips of loneliness my
soul cries out to
be comforted by my loved ones. The flesh whispers to my suffering heart,
telling it
that the touch of a human hand is all I need, but my wounds are deep and
no person or thing can heal them. The pain of my soul requires a spiritual touch. So
I’m reaching out to You, Father, in the only way that I know how.
Deep
down I know the question isn't "why am I in the ocean of despair?",
but "can I find a way to navigate through the waters when they
are raging".Can I swim with faith even when there is great pain?"
Guide me
through uncharted waters with Your love, Father. Grant to me
a clearer vision so that I can see amidst the fog. I cast my
cares completely to You. I give You my fear, my hurt, my anger, my
ambivalence, my pain, my suffering. Rescue me from everything that
keeps me from feeling whole and complete, and plant my feet upon dry
land.
The
fiery darts of evil seek to corrupt my soul, steal my joy, and control
my destiny, but You are my rescue. You are my burden-bearer, my
fortress, my sustainer, my comforter, my all and all. I humble myself
before You, and I utterly surrender to Your will, now and forever more.
Let me
come before Your throne striped of everything, realizing that my body is
but dust, and my spirit is birthed from all that You are. Teach me to
be pliable to Your will so that I am molded in the image of Christ, and
help me to grow and flourish. Encompass me with Your mercy. Anchor me
with an anointing of wisdom and strength, and let me float towards
healing, restoration, and renewal.
Thank
You for hearing my prayer, Dear Lord; for never leaving me, and for
guiding and protecting me every step of the way. In the name of Jesus
Christ I pray, Amen.
