God Will Not Abandon Us

Dear Heavenly Father,

Through the prophet, Isaiah, You told Your people in Isaiah 41:9-10(NLT), “I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” ‭‭Those living during this period faced troubling times, and they were very afraid that You would abandon them during their darkest hours. You wanted them to trust You and made it clear that You would comfort them during the troubles they faced, even though they had done things to displease You. This is truly an encouragement to us. We don’t deserve Your goodness and mercy, but You give it to us anyway.

In Isaiah 41:13(NLT), You said, “For I hold you by your right hand—I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” You desire to bring us into a right relationship with You. What an extreme blessing it is to know that You want to take us into Your bosom of protection and care. You want us to have faith in You, and You want to walk with us throughout our lives. As I look at my own life, I don’t know where I’d be or who I would have become if You hadn’t saved me and chose me to be Your child. Thank You, for the work You completed through the Lord Jesus Christ, so that we could be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.

You said to the people of Israel In Isaiah 41:14(NLT), “Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the LORD, your Redeemer.” You called Your people ‘O Jacob’ because they were descendants of Jacob, whose father was Isaac. Like them, we are all lowly worms, scrumming around, trying to make it from place to place. Only You can give us direction. You said in Psalm 116:8 that You will save us, You will keep our eyes from tears and keep our feet from stumbling. We are all like lowly worms before Your greatness. Only You can strengthen us and take from nothing to something. Please help us realize this, Heavenly Father. If we turn to You and seek Your forgiveness, You will not abandon us.

Because of You, we will never see the depths of hell. We will never feel its fire, horror, or torment. Colossians 1:13 tells us that through Jesus Christ, You have rescued us from the kingdom of darkness, and You have transferred us to the Kingdom of Your Son, our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We endure many things on this earth. Some have lost their homes and jobs, many are struggling financially, and some spouses are going through great difficulty in their marriages. Others are sick and haven’t been able to get well. There are also those that have mental and physical challenges that have rendered them unable to function in the way many of us take for granted. Please bless all of them, Heavenly Father; meet them in their time of need, O’ God. Please comfort them and let them know that You will strengthen and help us, and we do not have to be afraid or discouraged when we place our trust in You.

Thank You for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Please let Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
