Nothing Compares to Walking in the Spirit

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your Word tells us in Galatian 5:16(NLT), “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Thank You for giving us the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. He is our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide, and You command us to allow him, Your Spirit, to guide our lives. Furthermore, Jesus Christ tells us in John 16:13(NLT), “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” Through the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit, You guide us in Christ. You tell us about the future, and You help us to live righteously before You. This is too wonderful for words!

Because of wrong teaching and wrong information from the world, many people have a false assumption regarding how believers in the Lord Jesus Christ should live. They think of the Christian lifestyle as being too restrictive. They think they cannot have fun or that they will not be able to live up to the standards You have set, but nothing could be further from the truth. We were created in Your image. Your nature is woven in our makeup, and You have created everything about us to thrive in Godliness. And not only this, You created the entire universe to be friendly and cooperative towards anyone that has a mind and heart of Christ.

Sadly, many people have turned away from You because they have allowed satan to convince them of exactly the opposite. This is one of the reasons there is so much darkness, chaos, and confusion in their lives. They are blind to the destiny You have in store for them through Jesus Christ. They don’t know that we can be so close to You that we constantly receive information that will help, guide, and preserve our lives. Being guided by the Holy Spirit through our everyday lives is Your plan for our existences. It is what You always had in mind when You created us.

I’m overflowing with gratitude because of the revelation You have given me, especially over the past year. Through dreams and visions, You’ve downloaded directives and instructions, and You have told me about my future. Because of this, I have not been caught off guard. You have spiritually prepared me in advance so that I would make good choices and decisions. I am so thankful to know Your Word and to know that You desire to be close to us. It isn’t about the external, it is about what You are doing internally, in Christ, through Your Holy Spirit. You have prepared me with Your truth, and the Word You have given is unfolding before my very eyes. Thank You for helping others to know that nothing compares to walking in the Spirit. Please help them to grow closer to You through Jesus Christ, so they can witness the manifestation of Your power in amazing ways.

Through the Apostle Paul, You tell us in Hebrews 13:5-6(NLT), “5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” 6 So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” There’s nothing in the world—not money, fame, or possessions—that can compare to being close to You. It is the greatest treasure imaginable to know You and to receive Your love. Thank You for Your many blessings. Thank You for saving us through Jesus Christ, and for leading and guiding us through Your precious Holy Spirit. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
