Are You Ready?

It’s that time. Your breakthrough is right on the horizon. You can feel it in your spirit. God has been preparing you, speaking to your heart, and letting you know that what you’ve been praying for is closer than it’s ever been. But here’s the question we don’t ask enough: are you ready? Not just excited. Not just hopeful. But ready. We know that God doesn’t give us what we’re not prepared to carry. So—are you ready in your mind? Do you actually believe, deep down, that you can handle the very thing you’ve been asking God for?

It’s one thing to pray with expectation, but it’s something entirely different to step into the manifestation. It’s like moving from one dimension of life to another. We go from faith and believing to faith and receiving—and those are two very different realities. The weight of the promise feels different when it’s in your hands. When God takes us higher, life doesn’t get easier—it gets fuller, and with that fullness comes new levels of responsibility, spiritual maturity, and pressure. In Luke 12:48 (NLT), our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ puts it very plainly: “When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” It sounds beautiful until you’re walking it out.

We don’t always feel the weight of that until we’re living in it—when the new promotion, the answered prayer, or the door you’ve been knocking on suddenly swings wide open. Receiving more from God isn’t just about increase; it’s about transformation. That increase demands a different version of you—one that’s more focused, more surrendered, and more grounded in Him. You’ll find yourself having to reframe your mindset, shift your conversations, and align your habits with what God has placed in your hands. That kind of shift doesn’t happen accidentally. It takes intention, and it takes preparation. Romans 12:2 (NLT) reminds us, “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” This transformation is what equips you to carry what you once only dreamed about.

We can’t keep doing what we did in the last season and expect to thrive in the next. That’s why preparation matters. God pays close attention to how we manage the little things—the small instructions, the quiet seasons, the unseen moments. In Luke 16:10 (NLT), Jesus says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.” God watches how we handle the quiet assignments and the unseen sacrifices. He’s looking at the way we respond when it looks like nothing’s happening. He’s not just preparing the blessing for you—He’s preparing you for the blessing. Because elevation without foundation can lead to collapse, and God loves you too much to give you something you’re not ready to hold.

So if you’re sensing that a shift is coming, don’t just sit back and wait for the blessing to arrive. Press into what God is doing in you right now. He wants to see that you’re not just praying for more but becoming the person who can handle more. Let God develop you, stretch you, and steady you. He’s building the capacity you’ll need to sustain what He’s about to release. When the moment comes—and it will—He wants you to be more than excited. He wants you ready. Ready to carry it, ready to guard it, and ready to walk in it with wisdom and faith. ■
