Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
One of the most comforting things about walking with God is knowing He’s not governed by a clock. He doesn’t panic over deadlines or feel pressured by the expectations we set for ourselves. His promises are rooted in His perfect timing—not ours.
But let’s be honest—our free will can either help us walk in step with God, or it can slow us down. Just like a car with a full tank of gas won’t go anywhere until you turn the key, you can be surrounded by God’s promises and still not move if you won’t apply His Word to your life.
God’s Word works. But it only works for you when you’re willing to work it into your choices. If you’re praying for God to send you a good man, then your spiritual posture—your obedience, wisdom, and patience—will shape how you respond when one shows up. Or even more importantly, how you discern when one isn’t the right one.
Jeremiah 17:7 (NLT) says, “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” When your confidence is in Him—not in your timeline or emotions—you can wait with peace instead of panic.
Anything worth having comes with a process. And yes, sometimes that process is exhausting. Especially when you’ve waited, prayed, hoped—and still find yourself waiting. But our Heavenly Father knows exactly who fits the blueprint of your purpose. You don’t have the ability to see the whole picture, but He does.
Maybe you thought you’d be married by 30, with two kids and a house full of joy by 35. But what if God sees something different? What if His plan for you includes more growth, more healing, or more preparation—so that when love comes, it doesn’t just feel good, it lasts?
I’ve seen women who were so eager to be loved that they ignored every red flag just to feel seen for a moment. They knew deep down the man didn’t fit—but they kept going because attention felt better than being alone. And slowly, everything else in their life took a back seat just to keep that front-seat passenger satisfied. But God’s not cruel or late. He’s strategic. Every situation, condition, and circumstance are shaping you for what’s next. Every delay isn’t denial—it’s divine setup. Isaiah 60:22 (NLT) says, “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
So don’t give up just because you’re not there yet. Trust that God’s still writing. And when the timing is right, everything will come together—beautifully, purposefully, and in a way that brings peace, not pressure. Psalm 27:14 (NLT) says, “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” That kind of waiting is strength. That kind of patience is faith. Because God’s timing isn’t about delay—it’s about preparing you for a love that reflects His heart. ■
