For the Woman Who’s Tired but Still Trusting God
There comes a time in every woman’s life when it feels easier to let go than to hold on. You’ve prayed the prayers. Fought the battles. Waited longer than you thought possible. And still, the breakthrough feels far off. People around you may say, “Maybe this isn’t meant to be.” Your own thoughts might whisper, “Why bother?” But somewhere deep in your soul, there’s still a quiet “yes.” A yes that refuses to quit on what God spoke, even when the evidence hasn’t caught up yet.
Keeping it real, we know that holding on isn’t glamorous. It’s not the part of your story you post on social media. It’s the part where your tears hit the pillow, where your faith feels stretched thin, and where you’re wondering if you’re ever going to catch a break. But the Word reminds us in Galatians 6:9 (NLT), “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Notice that it says at the right time. That’s not your time. That’s not my time. That’s God’s time. And waiting on God’s timing will put your patience through paces.
There’s something holy about a woman who keeps showing up even when life has given her every excuse to check out. It’s no question that the great cloud of witnesses, and even the veterans of faith within our own bloodlines, fought the good fight of faith—the kind of faith that pressed on through storms, setbacks, and struggles. And make no mistake, because of Christ, that same enduring faith is alive in you. But it’s not just about the fight. It’s about the grace. Because if God called you to it, His grace will sustain you through it.
Look at Abraham. Romans 4:20-21 (NLT) says, “Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.” Abraham didn’t have the details. He didn’t have a timeline. But he trusted the Promise Giver more than the circumstances around him. And maybe that’s what God is teaching us in our waiting seasons—not to worship the outcome, but to trust His heart.
The truth is, growth doesn’t always feel like growth. Sometimes it feels like loss. Like loneliness. Like silence. But it’s in these very places that God is shaping who we’re becoming. James 1:4 (NLT) tells us, “So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Notice it says let it grow. Growth isn’t forced; it’s allowed. That means we have to make room for what God is doing, even when it hurts.
There are going to be people who don’t understand your obedience. Friends who think you should’ve given up by now. Family who question why you’re still believing. But you are not called to please them—you are called to please God. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 (NLT) says it like this: “For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people.” If you live for people’s approval, you’ll die by their rejection. But when you live for God, His approval sustains you through every “no,” every delay, every closed door.
So, what are you holding onto right now? Is it a promise God spoke to your heart? A vision that hasn’t yet come to pass? A healing you’ve been waiting on? Whatever it is, don’t loosen your grip just because it got hard. God sees you. He hears you. And He is not finished.
Holding on doesn’t mean you have it all together. It just means you’ve decided that your faith will outlast your feelings. That God’s truth will outshout your doubts. And that quitting is no longer an option when the One who called you is still working behind the scenes. Hebrews 10:23 (NLT) says, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” The world may shift, circumstances may change, but God’s faithfulness stays the same. So, even when it’s hard, hold on, because in due time, God will make it all worth it. ■
