God Passes Every Test

Psalm 139:23 (NLT)
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”

Life moves fast. We get caught up in the routines, responsibilities, and noise of everyday living. And if we’re not careful, our time with God—our pursuit of an intimate relationship with Him—can get watered down by everything else. But ask yourself honestly: Do I truly want God’s plan for my life, or just His blessings? He’s not hiding. He’s waiting on your invitation to reveal what’s been blocking the blessing He wants to give you.

We all need quiet, sacred moments where our soul is still enough to hear His voice. This verse in Psalm 139:23 doesn’t just invite us to know God’s heart—it calls us to be bold enough to let Him examine ours. When you truly want to grow, you’ll ask God to search you, inspect your heart, and expose the areas you’ve been avoiding. Not because He doesn’t already know, but because you need to know. When the student is ready, the lesson will come. You need to be ready to confront the roots of fear, bitterness, pride, or pain that are quietly shaping your decisions.

We often say, “God knows my heart,” and He does—but that’s not a pass to keep living any kind of way. Romans 12:2 (NLT) reminds us: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Transformation starts in the mind. It’s your job to renew it—to change the way you think—and God’s grace empowers you to do it. We have to remember that salvation is the beginning, but sanctification is the process that continues.

God’s love isn’t like human love. Think about the way a parent knows their child—their quirks, their voice, their struggles. Now multiply that love and understanding by eternity. That’s how God loves and knows you. So when you say, “Search me,” you’re not asking Him to uncover something He’s unaware of. You’re giving Him full access to help you address it, heal from it, and grow through it.

In Psalm 34:8 (NLT), God invites us to test His unfailing, unyielding goodness: “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” This is a real invitation! Sometimes we find ourselves in situations so dark, chaotic, and confusing that they trigger fear and doubt. We start to wonder if God will really show up—especially since He allowed the pain in the first place. But God isn’t manipulative. He doesn’t violate free will. And yes, there are situations the enemy sends that God allows. But here’s what He holds us responsible for knowing and trusting: He is a God who cannot fail.

There is no test, no trial, no tribulation that can outpace His faithfulness—not loneliness, not sickness, not even the most calculated plot of the enemy.

We’ve got to come to a place where we believe—deep down—that God knows us. Not just generally, but intimately. He sees the situation long before it reaches us. He knows it’ll test our faith. And because He knows the power that He’s already placed in us—because we are more than conquerors through Christ—He allows the test. At the end of the day, it’s our belief in His love and His power working in us that’s really being tested. And we’ve been given the awesome opportunity to see firsthand how faithful He truly is.

There are so many things the enemy uses to stir up fear in our hearts, and loneliness is one of his favorite tactics. The fear of never getting married—or worse, the fear that no one will ever love you enough to choose you—can slowly poison your outlook on life if you don’t learn to deeply trust God. That kind of worry doesn’t reflect a heart rooted in faith; it reflects one gripped by uncertainty. But here’s the truth: being saved means you’ve made a conscious decision to let Jesus Christ be Lord of your life. And when you’ve fully surrendered to his Lordship, fear will never have the final say.

That decision comes with a shift in our thinking. It means you no longer allow anything rooted in wickedness, brokenness, or doubt to compromise your confidence in God or your identity in Christ. You are not forgotten. You are not unseen. And your worth is not tied to your relationship status—it’s anchored in the One who chose you first. ■
