Fall: The Season of Fruitfulness and Readiness
Fall is the season of harvest — the time when seeds sown in faith begin to bear visible fruit. What once was hidden beneath the soil now ripens for others to see and partake of. In Christ, this season is not only about enjoying the fruit but also about readiness. God calls you to steward what He’s grown in you so that your life becomes nourishment, strength, and testimony for others. Fall is the reminder that what you carry is not just for you — it is for His Kingdom.
What to Expect in This Season
Expect to see evidence of growth that once felt unseen. Galatians 6:9 (NLT) tells us, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Expect God to open doors of opportunity for your gifts and character to be displayed. The fruit you carry is not just about blessing your life but about blessing others through you.
Expect to be called into readiness. With fruit comes responsibility. John 15:8 (NLT) says, “When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.” The fruit proves His work in you, and readiness equips you to handle the weight of your calling.
The Battle
Fall is a season of plenty, but it’s also a season where complacency and pride can creep in. When the fruit starts to show, the enemy whispers: “This is all because of you. You don’t need God anymore.” Or he tempts you to hold back, to hoard what God gave instead of sharing it.
The Spirit is cultivating goodness and self-control in you, but their opposites — greed and indulgence — may rise to the surface. Think of them as red flags reminding you to stay rooted in Christ.
- Greed says: “Keep it all for yourself.”
- Jesus says: “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8, NLT).
- Pride says: “You made this happen.”
- The Spirit whispers: “It is God who enables you both to will and to act for His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13, NLT).
Fall doesn’t just reveal what you’ve grown — it tests how you’ll carry it. The fruit is not only for display, but for distribution, proving that what God grows in you is meant to flow through you.
