Let’s be honest, it can be said of many of us that the reason why we don’t have what we want is because we haven’t prepared ourselves to go get it. We’re not ready to take the leap. First of all, we haven’t clearly identified exactly what we want. Secondly, we haven’t acquired the knowledge we need to pursue it; and thirdly, we haven’t gleaned revelation about what to do with the blessing after we receive it; and we haven’t educated ourselves about how to maintain it. Very simply, these are the requirements for obtaining anything within the realm of faith. They are all necessary to devise a plan to go get what God has made available to us.

In order to position ourselves to obtain any blessing, there must be a collaboration of our minds, emotions, and bodies with our Spirit. If any part of us is not on board with the Spirit, our plans to go get what we desire will be subject to interference. In 2Corinthians 2:10-11 (NIV), through the Apostle Paul, God is instructing us regarding forgiveness. Paul wrote, “10 Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” God makes it very plain to us that the enemy can outsmart us by our own ignorance IF we are unaware of his schemes.

The things that we don’t know, the knowledge that is not presently in our arsenals, can severely hamper our efforts to progress forward in the pursuit of marriage. One of the chief schemes of the enemy is to stall our efforts through the manipulation of our plan—by testing it to see where the holes are OR if we have one at all. God has already made it very plain to us that it is available to operate in such a way that the enemy can’t outsmart us. Heavenly Father has told us that we can be aware of the enemy’s schemes, and this should become a constant part of our prayer lives—to ask Heavenly Father to open our eyes so that we can be aware of the enemy’s devices.

Heavenly Father is a God of order. Everything in the universe runs systematically in alignment with the laws and order that He has ordained for creation. Through His Word, and the through the example of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God is teaching us how He does things. He is teaching us to take authority and dominion through Jesus Christ so that we can do the greater works that Christ commended into our hands. We can’t do things our way and expect optimum results. It just isn’t going to work.

YOU MUST HAVE A PLAN

Proverbs 14:22 (NIV) tells us, “Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.” Have you planned what is good? In terms of your desire to be married, have you strategized and devised a plan that will yield good results?

We are designed by God to be intelligent, loving, organized, dutiful, and powerful through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We can’t be scatterbrain and unorderly, for God has already told us in James 1:8 that a doubleminded individual is unstable in all their ways. This kind of person will not get good results in the end, because they are not of one mind. They don’t plan what is good because they refuse to stand solidly on God’s Word. This is not who we are as ambassadors for Christ.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) tells us, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” God didn’t create robots. He created us for His glory. We are made in His image, and He calls us His masterpieces; His most splendorous work! He didn’t leave anything out in terms of our design and purpose. We exist because He exists! We are His children, and He has given us the privilege and the choice to learn how He moves, and to orchestrate our lives accordingly. So how can we not recognize that in order to live life purposely we have to do things God’s way.

We’re intelligent beings, and intelligent beings plan. God showed us this from the very beginning, as He systemically ordered the creation of the earth for our habitation. He didn’t keep this a secret. He wrote it in His Word. He didn’t create the trees and vegetation before He separated the waters from dry land; and He didn’t create living creatures before He created a way for them to be physically sustained. This is the methodology for the kind of intelligent planning we need to develop.

LET GOD ESTABLISH YOUR STEPS

You can’t go get what God has for you without a plan of acquisition that you are willing to yield to His divine intervention. Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) tells us, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” When it comes to your efforts to marry a good and Godly man, make sure that every detail of your plan includes a commitment to please God, and a way to stay true to this commitment regardless of the obstacles, pressures, and deviations you may face. Strategize mentally and spiritually! Write down the plan. Consider the ‘what ifs’, and then give everything over to God. Know that the Spirit that indwells you will establish your steps according to God’s direction.

Again, your responsibility is to make the plan. Whatever steps you’ve outlined or thought about, as you move forth in faith, God will then lead and guide you to a victorious outcome. You ought to look for His divine guidance and expect that He will aid you. He will keep your feet from falling, and He will warn you along the way. He will always let you know whether or not you are heading in the right direction. Just trust Him with your whole heart.

TIMELY CORRECTION

Proverbs 19:20-21(NLT) tells us, “20 Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.  21 You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”

God has a plan for the entire universe, and His plan and purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:20-21 serves as a reminder to us to not get this twisted. We can’t deny the Spirit’s leadership or not do what God says, and think that our plan will work out.

Come into consciousness about what is happening in your life. When something isn’t working for you, don’t blame God. Don’t think that He isn’t going to help you or that He is punishing you. THINK, FEEL, and BEHAVE higher than this. Trust and believe that God has designed everything in the universe to partner with you as you take your rightful place of authority. Know automatically that when circumstances are not cooperating with you, it is because your vision is skewed. Something in the way that you’ve planned or carried out steps needs to be tweaked or addressed.

Finally, have confidence that God has given you everything you need to take possession of the blessings you seek. This includes the blessing of meeting someone that is perfectly suited for you. Once you make up in your mind to trust God at His Word – there’s no turning back, and nothing can hold you back; for if God is for you, nothing can stand in your way. Go get it!
