Dear Heavenly Father,
1Corinthians 14:33 tells us that You are not the author of confusion. You are a God of order, and order is supreme with You. It’s how You run heaven, and it is also how You want us, as your children, to do things as well. Everything that has Your stamp on it makes sense and fits together beautifully, like a hand in a glove. We can see this from the very beginning, when you created Adam and Eve. You didn’t create them first, but made a paradise to place them in before they were created. You made sure everything was done according to Your exceedingly excellent standard. Then, You created man and woman, and gave them an occupation to keep them busy and fulfilled.
A person might ask themselves, “If God runs heaven with order, why is there so much disorder on the earth?” I wanted to know the answer to this question myself, Heavenly Father, because there is so much darkness and evil in the world, and I know this isn’t Your Will. You tell us in Romans 5:8, that You demonstrated Your enormous love for us by sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us when we were at our worse. The world was in terrible shape back then, and some would argue that it is in terrible shape today. You didn’t destroy it because of all the sin, but saved it! What an awesome and amazing Father You are!!!
You did not make human beings follow the order of heaven, but gave us a choice. You could have made us like puppets or robots, but Genesis 1:26 (NLT) says, “Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” You made us in Your image. You have free-will, and You gave us free-will. You didn’t give us this unbelievable gift of free-will, and not tell us how to use it. You told us exactly what to do with it. You said, “REIGN!!!”
You didn’t give us free-will to reign over another person, but You gave us the power to masterfully govern our own lives, so that we can be good citizens and stewards of earth. We took the power You gave us and gave it to the devil. That’s why Jesus had to come. And this is why the world is in such rough shape today, because many people are not walking in their Christ authority. They are not walking in the power that You provided us through the Holy Spirit. Instead, they are still choosing to give their power to the enemy. This is why there is so much confusion and chaos in the world, but as Christians and lovers of Your Word, our lives can be packed with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Dear Sweet Heavenly Father, please help us to walk in the Christ authority that You’ve given us. Help us to measure up to Your standard of order and Godliness, and to be good to one another. Help us to be good stewards and citizens of earth, and to pay attention as the Holy Spirit leads us to become more like Jesus Christ. Thank You for blessing us with all spiritual blessings in Christ and for allowing us the privilege to walk in his authority, dominion, and power!
You are so awesome and amazing, Most Holy God. Thank You for Jesus Christ, and thank You for the Holy Spirit. Please help us to be a blessing to Your Kingdom, and let Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
