Dear Heavenly Father,
Through the Apostle Paul, You tell us in 2Timothy 1:9(NKJV), “who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” You’ve given us the privilege and responsibility to walk in the purpose for which You’ve called us. It is a holy calling. We received it before time began, and it fits perfectly with Your purpose for the entire universe. Common logic tells us that the purpose of a thing will follow its identity. A broom’s identity is that of being a cleaning tool. Its purpose is to sweep floors. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that our identity is that of being Your masterpiece. We were created in Christ Jesus, and our purpose is the highest and grandest of any in all of eternity. It is to love You and to perform good works in the name of Jesus Christ.
There are so many people that are walking around lost, and it is because they are looking to receive from the world what they can only receive from You. They think that other people and things can fulfill them and give them purpose in life, but this isn’t true. Its why people are so empty, because their souls are hungering for the Lord Jesus Christ, and they don’t even know it. Lord, some of these people are in such misery right now. They haven’t heard the Good News about Jesus Christ, because the devil has blinded them from it. Deep within them is a longing to be made whole. Heavenly Father, thank You for satisfying their soul’s cry. Thank You for allowing someone to come across their path that will speak a life-changing Word from heaven into their souls.
1Peter 2:9(NLT) says, “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” This is our mission, Heavenly Father. We are Your chosen people, Your very own possession. It is our responsibility, and it should be our esteemed honor, to show others Your goodness. All of us who know Christ can speak a life-changing word in the hearts of others, and they can be forever changed through the Lord Jesus Christ. Please help us to open our eyes wide, so that we never miss an opportunity to be a witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to fulfill the purpose to which we have been called. Thank You for the grace You’ve given us through Christ, and for the salvation he has made available to any person that desires a relationship with You.
Thank You for our powerful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for Your precious Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
