Take It Easy, God Has It Covered

Jesus Christ said in John 16:33(NLT), “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  Our Lord and Savior didn’t sugarcoat the truth. He was very clear when he told his brothers and sisters about the kind of world that we live in. He has warned us, and at the same time he comforts us too, because through the sacrifice of his blood on the cross and his resurrection, he overcame the world. Because of all that Christ has accomplished for us, we can rest in his care and give him all our burdens. When it comes to the cares of this world, we can take it easy, because God covered it all through His powerful and precious Son, Jesus Christ.

Many of us are nervous and concerned about what’s going on in the world and understandably so. The unrest and confusion are all around us. For those that are unmarried, it makes them want to cling to a husband or significant person, but when you don’t have either, you begin to feel that it’s too much for one person to bear. God knows our hearts, and He knows all the emotions we are dealing with as we face what seems to be one thing after the other. He has not left us alone, and He wants our trust to be firmly anchored in Him through Christ, and not anyone else.

In Matthew 6:7-8(NLT), Jesus Christ revealed a wonderful truth while warning the disciples not to be hypocritical and vain when it comes to prayer. He said, “7 When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” Jesus Christ makes it clear that repeating the same words and the same request won’t guarantee an answer to our prayers. God is looking at the heart of the person who prays.

In 2Chronicles 16:9(NIV), Hanani the seer said to King Asa, “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” Our Heavenly Father is paying attention to how we handle stress, fear, and worry, because how we handle them is a good indication of how much we trust Him in our hearts. In Philippians 4:6(NLT), He commands us, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” There isn’t anything happening today that God didn’t know about. Our responsibility as His sons and daughters is to be instant in prayer, and to pray without ceasing. Heavenly tells us that when we pray, we are to thank Him for all He’s done. Even though we’ve not witnessed the manifestation of the blessing in the natural realm, it already exists and is given to us in the supernatural realm. Our faith in God makes the transfer possible.

1 Timothy 2:1-2(NLT) says, “1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” It is abundantly clear that we need to pray more for all people. As unmarried Christians, it is incumbent upon us to be unselfish with our time and spend more of it praying for others. When it comes to our own agendas, God knows exactly what we need. We can take it easy and have confidence that He has it covered. It’s His agenda for the earth that must be our focus, and we must do all we can to move His agenda forward. If we are diligent to take care of God’s business, we can be assured that He’s already taken care of ours. ♦
