Jesus Christ is The Door that Leads to God

Revelations 3:7-8(NLT)
“7 Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open: 8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.”

God has placed us on this earth to carry out His mission. This mission we have received from Him is to make our work mirror the finished work of Christ. Our blessed Redeemer gave his life for us on Calvary. He offered his life on the cross for our sins, and the price he paid is unimaginable. His sacrifice exceeds the highest value of any treasure in all the universe and eternity. In truth, it will take us an eternity to live out and encompass all that Christ made available to us through his death and resurrection. To lay claim to our inheritance in Christ, we must open our eyes. Right now, today, we must get a firm grasp on the work that is still left undone for us. The world’s systems are rooted and rotting in unbelief and darkness. These systems sway the masses to remain asleep, but this cannot be the case with God’s children. We should be alive and alert because we are children of the light, and Christ has much in store for our lives.

1Thessalonians 5:9(NLT) tells us, “For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.” Our Heavenly Father didn’t set us up for disappointment and failure. He set us up for abundance and victory through the accomplishment of Christ. God doesn’t trick us into believing that we can have a wonderful life and then pull the rug from beneath us, but this is what many people think. They are severely mistaken. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t play games with our lives. He’s not teasing us; He’s preparing us for glory!

Many believers are praying to receive a blessing that is very important to them. They may become disillusioned because they think they’re reaching out for the blessing, but they are being prevented from attaining it. God does not withhold blessings from His people. The thing that prevents us from attaining is a failure to understand that Jesus Christ is the door and through the salvation he gives us, we have the key. In Luke 10:19(NLT), Jesus told the disciples, Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” Through Christ, we have the power and authority to do this too!

The key is to keep our eyes open and stayed upon Jesus Christ. It’s to know that our identity is Christ, himself, and we must be convinced that the power of God is working in us through His Holy Spirit, transforming us inside out. The doorway is Christ, and he is fully opened to us. He is the doorway into the heavenly dimension, and no one can close what Christ has opened.

He said in John 10:9(NKJV), I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” The door is narrow, and it will require us to be fully aware and awake to walk through it. None of this wishy-washy, ‘maybe He will or maybe He won’t’ business. You and I must enter the door and recognize that our destiny is to be like Christ, to be the very image of him in all that we are.

James 1:6(NLT) says, “But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.  Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.” When you’re dealing with a person with divided loyalty, you can never fully trust them, and you can never really be sure what you’re going to get. You never know which side they are going to choose. God doesn’t tolerate this from us. Faith is believing what God says. It’s believing His Word and we can’t please Him without this. We can’t expect to receive anything from the Lord without faith in Him.

Jesus Christ said in Revelation 3:16(NLT),But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Born-again believers that serve God with all their hearts and minds, and only want to do what is pleasing in His sight are “hot” for God.  Those who have no desire at all to know God or to live in Christ are “cold” toward Him, but the ones that are called “lukewarm” are those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but quickly forget his ways. They knew him once but have neglected God’s Word and their lives do not reflect the love of Christ. We must never be a lukewarm believer.

The Lord will spit us out of His mouth for trusting in the world’s system instead of trusting our Heavenly Father with all our hearts. We can’t behave, think, or talk like the world does. We must make the choice to walk through the door and leave the world behind in order to be God’s children of light.

Jesus Christ has opened the door that leads to God through his life, sacrifice, and resurrection. We cannot compromise, because a compromise will never suffice. We can’t have a mixed message about our allegiance and commitment to our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is Lord! Our lives must reflect this. We belong to God and our actions and behaviors must be clear. They must speak loudly of our loyalty to our Heavenly Father, and they must convey we understand the priceless treasure of salvation that Christ has made available to us all.■
