The Right Place at the Right Time

What does it take for a person to be in the right place at the right time? This is a question that should be on the minds of anyone that has been praying for the fruition of a special blessing. Of course, the answer to this question should have us waiting with bated breath, and it’s not complicated at all. To be in the right place at the right time, an individual would need to be strategically positioned by God. This requires that they have established a habit pattern of first seeking our Heavenly Father for direction, and secondly, doing what He says. We’d like to think that it is so much more complicated than this, but it’s not. Galatians 5:25 (NLT) tells us, “Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” God has ordered our steps, and He has done so in such a way that the Spirit leads, and we follow. When we’re in sync with this, things happen exactly as they are supposed to.

Ephesians 1:4-5(NLT) says, “4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” There is nothing random about our lives. Even before we were in our mother’s wombs, our Heavenly Father knew us, and He knew that we would one day remember who we are and come back to Him. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much. He appointed the place of our births, the family we would be born into, and the year we would be born. There’s no aspect of our lives that isn’t destined for the Father’s glory.

Sometimes, we forget this. We develop our own agendas, and we want God to play along. We desire blessings from our Heavenly Father to make our lives abundant and fulfilling, but we forget that the path to those blessings belong to Him. He tells us in Proverbs 3:6(NLT) to “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” God knows the plans He has for us. He knows where we’re supposed to be, when we’re supposed to be there, and He knows how to get us there. We should place our dreams and aspirations, as well as our troubles and tribulation, in the Father’s hands. We must give it all to Him with faith, humility, patience, and total surrender.

Our Heavenly Father doesn’t make mistakes. Hebrews 10:23(NLT) tells us, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” God is not a man that He should lie. (Numbers 23:19) He can be trusted to keep His promises forever and ever. Every Word He has spoken is true, and every prophecy He’s spoken has and will come to pass. The distance between where we are and where we need to be, only God knows. If success is our goal, we must give that truth some serious thought when it comes to what we desire most.

Jesus Christ said in John 16:13(NLT), “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” The Spirit lives within us, and he communicates with us all the time. He’s continually keeping us from danger and helping us to be all that God wants us to be. God’s Holy Spirit is perfect, and his leadership is perfect. The question we must ask ourselves is why we are not trusting God to strategically position us by His Spirit.

God tells us in 1Thessalonians 5:5(NLT), “For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night.” We are God’s kids, and He has placed His Holy Spirit within us. He has filled us with love and power, and He commands us in Galatians 5:25(NLT), “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” We must live by God’s Holy Spirit and never try to move ahead of him, no matter what our agendas may be. When we develop a habit pattern of following the Spirit’s lead with humility and submission, there is no struggle involved. Our situations and circumstances will effortlessly line up, and we’ll one day look around to find that we’re standing in the midst of our great blessing because God, Himself, has strategically positioned us in the right place at the right time.■
