Avoid Anyone Who Talks Too Much

Proverbs 20:19 (NIV)  A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.

Women tend to be more social when it comes to conversing among each other. In most cases, we are certainly more talkative than men, and quite naturally this makes us prone to spend more time together leisurely.  It’s nothing like having sister friends that you can trust and be relaxed around – even so, we have to be very cautious when it comes to stamping someone a thick-or-thin “bestie”. Everyone who says that they have our backs will not be there when we need them, and everyone that we confide in cannot be trusted to be discreet.

There are some women that you may be able to bond with right off the bat, and there will be others that just strike you the wrong way. You could be wrong about that person. The person you bond with could be a gossiper, and the person who strikes you as odd could be the greatest confidant in the world.

The best wisdom is to be careful about letting your guard down and sharing personal aspects of your life with people that haven’t proven themselves reliable. Watch out, because not every woman that is friendly, will make a good friend. Some are not genuinely interested in forging Godly connections, but interested in learning your business so they can gossip about it later.

Avoid people who talk too much. They have a difficult time filtering what to say and what not to say. Pray to God for revelation on who you should and shouldn’t trust. This is a very important part of our Christian walk, and God will steer us in the right direction, so that we can build healthy relationships that nourish us instead of tear us down.
