Seek God’s Will for Your Life

There’s a question every single woman that is waiting for the right man to come into her life should ask. It is whether waiting month after month and year after year has caused her to hit the pause button on other areas of her life. A lot of times we do this without even realizing it. We might begin to feel that we don’t have a fulfilling life unless we have a spouse or a significant other to share our lives with. In Matthew 16:19(NLT), Jesus Christ said “And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” This verse is exactly the wisdom we need. If the single woman allows the knowledge in Matthew 16:19 to soak in, she’ll start to do things that release blessings in heaven and therefore cause them to manifest in earth. She will stay on the path that pleases God.

God’s plan for us is very specific. It doesn’t matter what you think works or what you’ve seen other people do, you are the one that has to fulfill the requirements of His Word according to the purpose He has for your life. Heavenly Father doesn’t ask a whole lot of us, but He does indeed require that we keep Him first in our lives. Keeping God first keeps our hearts and minds filled with love and faith, but any time we allow our priorities to get out of whack, we’re going to see it show up in our circumstances big time.

There are many Christian women that are filled with a lot of stress and tension from holding down life without a husband or a significant other that they can rely on. When challenges come knocking at your door, sometimes it takes a boatload of faith in the Lord to get you through it if you’re unmarried. For instance, I heard about one of my dear friend’s recent struggle. While dealing with everything that is happening with the pandemic restrictions, like online schooling for her young ones and issues at work, her household appliances began to break down. Within a week, the kitchen faucet broke, and the refrigerator wouldn’t get cold enough to freeze. As a single parent, she couldn’t afford to lose all that food, and she was at her wits end about what to do.

She doesn’t have a handy male friend and started to think about calling her ex. He’s a Mr. Fix It if ever there was one. Then she remembered that God had closed that door for a reason. To open it up would be a sign that she was placing more faith in a man than trusting in Heavenly Father to be her sufficiency. In the end, it all worked out, but in her mind, she felt the situation would’ve been a lot less stressful if she wasn’t going through it without a significant partner.

Our Heavenly Father will provide, there can be no doubt about this, but we shouldn’t neglect the reality that every event, encounter, and experience in life teaches us spiritual lessons. It’s up to us to seek God, so that we learn our lessons well. He often teaches us about holding on too tightly to things we should relinquish, and He also teaches us to examine why we cling to them so tightly. This causes us to look at what we’re loosing and binding on earth, because the key is in our hands, and the Lord Jesus Christ put it there. We, ourselves, choose the doors we’re going to open and walk through. If we don’t like the doors that are being presented, our God is faithful to show us the right ones. The question for us is whether or not we will walk through them.

Single women may ask the question, “Will God really bless me with a good man?” God’s blessings are never anything but good. The question is never will He bless us, but will we do all that He requires to remain blessed. It is impossible for you to escape God’s sight. You cannot hide from Him. He knows exactly where you are at all times. All power is in His hands, and He can cause your destiny partner to find you within less time than a blink of an eye. Why hasn’t this happened? The answer is contained within your willingness to seek the Will of God for your life. Seek it with all your heart and walk in the love of Christ in a way that causes you to see and recognize the right doors. When we do this, God promises to take care of all our needs, and that includes the right person to walk with us through life. ■
