It’s About to Make Sense

It may not seem like it, but life is supposed to make sense. That’s the way God designed it. 1Corinthians 14:33 tells us that “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” Our Heavenly Father never intended for life to be chaotic and confusing, but life on earth often is. Part of this is because we have a spiritual enemy that tries to trap and trip us up on every hand, and another part of it is that we’re just too impatient for our own good. Instead of patiently enduring and waiting on the Lord, we push ahead without His leadership and direction. This and more makes life messy at times. We become frustrated that nothing is working out the way we wanted. When life gets crazy this way, it’s not a time to feel down, but to look up!

Many of us have been in a position where we felt like we were holding our breaths, waiting for the thing we’ve been praying for to finally arrive. As things progressed, and it looked as though we were finally going to see the blessing manifest, things seemed to come unglued. This can really take a toll on our level of enthusiasm about life. We can’t make sense of what is happening, and this can lead us down the road of becoming more frustrated and impatient. We might even begin to take it out on others, and this can set us further back if we’re not careful.

God said in Isaiah 55:9(NLT), “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Our Heavenly Father is a sovereign God. He has absolute rule and authority, and there is none more powerful than Him. God owns everything and there isn’t anything that exists that isn’t His. We don’t have any power or strength to call our own. All that we are, and everything that we’ve been blessed to accomplish is because of His amazing grace. He has allowed us to live from day to day because of his unconditional and unlimited love, but we can’t take credit for anything.

1Peter 5:6(NLT) says, “6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” We have a responsibility as God’s children, and it is to humble ourselves under His mighty power. To do this, we must give our worries and cares over to Him and do so in faith. Life demonstrates to each of us in very unique but unavoidable ways that we don’t control anything.

In Isaiah 42:16(NKJV), He said to His people living in Old Testament times, “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them,

And not forsake them.” This demonstrates the magnificence of the God we serve. This is what He does for us as well. We’re blindsided by the situations and circumstances of life, but through this, we should learn greater lessons about God’s leadership, because only He can lead us to paths that we’ve never known. He can shine light on the things that have been hidden from us. The wisdom, the solutions, the empowerment; we lost sight of all these, and because we did, we’ve been going in circles. All we saw was how much we wanted the blessing, but what we didn’t see was that God is still preparing us spiritually to receive it.

We go to God and say, “But I’ve done this, and I’ve done that, and still I have to wait?!!! It’s just not fair, Lord!” We’re so tempted to give up and be done with it all, but that is not the way of a believer in Christ. We must keep pressing and seeking our Heavenly Father because He is teaching us that He is a God who never makes a mistake. He is worthy to be sought. So don’t focus on the craziness. Focus on God. He will make crooked places straight if you continue to keep the faith. He said in Isaiah 60:22 (NLT), “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”  God is going to make things happen for you. The victory is always greater than the tribulation, so never lose hope, because one day soon, everything you’ve gone through will all make sense.■
